A leading aerospace and defense organization, Lockheed Martin required a scalable solution to manage supplier-submitted part structures within its Virtual Data Management (VDM) ecosystem. Suppliers needed to provide bills of material in standardized formats, which were processed through multiple systems to support logistics, validation, and lifecycle management.
The organization aimed to transition from quantity-based structures to occurrence-based structures aligned with Functional Logistic Control Numbers (FLCNs), while enabling suppliers to directly upload part structures into Teamcenter. This required seamless integration across systems, automated validations, and reliable workflow orchestration.
