These systems are geared to carry out certain business functions. However, many critical business processes span across a number of these legacy and COTS systems.
Business process orchestration is composed of moving data from a system or set of systems to destination systems based on the business requirements.
This movement of data is triggered by various events or schedules or change in status of data elements. At times the source system data needs to be transformed for its use in a destination system.
For proper processing / consumption of incoming data in a destination system, relevant workflows need to be triggered. All of these capabilities are an integral part of the business process orchestration.
